90s icon, Chloë Sevigny, was married for the second time (to the same person) at Talmadge Hill Community Church in Darien, Connecticut. Ultimate cool girl Chloë, is a household name amongst fashion and ‘indie’ circles. Chloë Sevigny’s first acting debut was in a music video for Sonic Youth in 1992 and her success as an ‘it-girl’ spiralled from then on, starring in the classic (1995) film Kids.
Dubbed the coolest wedding of the 21st Century, everyone wanted to be involved in Sevigny and husband, art gallery director, Siniša Mačković’s wedding party. Driving away in a vintage Mercedes, with cans of Modelo, Diet Coke, and LaCroix seltzer tied to the back, the couple was the picture of style leaving the venue. Ice sculptures and cigarette favours were also a large feature at the event and Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne and model Paloma Elsesser were amongst the star-studded guests in attendance. All of these factors made the wedding one of the celebrity events of the year - forget the Met Gala, this was totally iconic.
The talk of the town was Sevigny’s gorgeous Jean-Paul Gaultier haute couture gown designed by Glenn Martins, and her other two looks for the reception and after-party. Her dinner dress was designed by Jonathan Anderson of Loewe. Then for the after-party, held at her brother’s club, Pauls Casablanca, Sevigny donned a Casey Cadwallader laced corset bodysuit. Throughout the day she wore satin Manolos, in true New Yorker style. All of her looks embodied her individuality and effortless cool.
Sevigny is a true fashion girly and ultimate cool girl. She has made the celebrity wedding interesting again.
We love her for that.
